Recent Events: On March 6, GFY Gear sponsored Jenna Castillo successfully defended her USMF Bantamweight Muay Thai title via 3rd round TKO at the "War of the Heroes V" show at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Jenna was dominant, and put on quite a show in what was likely the fight of the night. Also on the card were GFY Gear fighters Robert Cornejo Jr, and Leizel Beliso of Unlimited MMA . Although they both lost via decisions; they showed skill, heart, and class. Thanks to all that came out to show your support! On February 26, GFY Gear fighter James Terry from Cung Le's USH! fought on the Strikeforce Challengers card at the San Jose Civic Auditorium in San Jose CA. James was on the the main card, which was televised on Showtime! James fractured both hands early on in the fight, but persevered to finish the fight. Although James lost a decision, he showed how tough he is, and did a great job of representing! Also on the card were GFY Gear sponsored Tristan Arenal from Unlimited Kickboxing and Anthony De Los Santos from Condition and Competition. Tristan won via TKO at :30 of round 2. Tristan almost finished the fight with 2 separate submissions in the 1st round. Anthony looked very good in his bout prior to getting caught in an armbar in the 2nd round. On Feb 26, Friend Of GFY - 16 year old Brianna Vanburen of AntDawg's USH made her amateur MMA/Pankration debut at Coaching KId's MMA in Sacramento CA. Brianna won via decision against a very experienced Delicia Velasquez in what was considered by most to be the fight of the night. Congratulations Brianna! On January 23, GFY Gear sponsored fighter Tristan Arenal of Unlimited MMA won via first round armbar over Chris Deluna for a WFC MMA title at Beale Beatdown at Beale Air Force Base. On December 19th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose CA, Cung Le returned to the cage against Scott "hands of steel" Smith in a toe to toe throw down shown live on Showtime. Cung dominated the fight before getting caught with a well placed shot with about 90 seconds left in the final round. The referee called a stop, and Scott Smith pulled out another amazing victory. Also on the card was a great rematch between Josh Thompson and Gilbert Melendez, with Gilbert getting the decision after 5 brutal rounds. Matt Linland lost to "Jacare" Souza. On Dec 4th, GFY Gear fighter Tony Johnson from San Jose Boxing and Fitness fought at "Fight Night At The Tank" at the HP Pavilion in San Jose CA. Tony dominated - almost finishing his opponent a few times - and won via unanimous decision. Congratulations Tony! On Nov 6 in Fresno CA, GFY Gear fighter Thomas Diagne from Cung Le's USH!fought in "Strikeforce Challengers". After a spectacular slam, and some great positioning on the ground, Thomas got caught in a heel hook that ended the fight. Thomas' ground game is improving very quickly, and his stand up game is extremely solid. He will be a force to be reckoned with! On Oct 24, GFY Gear fighters Jeremy Murphy (Muay Thai) and Andrew Valladarez (MMA), both from Cung Le's USH! fought for titles at "Rumble at Richmond" in Richmond CA. Jeremy's fight was quite interesting. After an early TKO was ruled to have been caused by a low blow from Jeremy, the fight continued and was ruled a draw. Andrew was dominating his fight before getting caught in a submission. Thank you to all that came out to support them! On Saturday Oct 10 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara CA, GFY Gear fighters Hector Cortes and Tristan Arenal from Unlimited Kickboxing were on the fight card in Muay Thai bouts at "War of The Heroes IV" . Tristan won via KO in 51 seconds, and Hector won via KO in 1 minute, 23 seconds! Congratulations to both for your quick KO wins! On The weekend of Sept 24th, GFY Gear fighter Ricco Rodriguez went to Barcelona Spain for the ADCC World Submission Wresting Championships. He did not win, but he represented GFY Gear on and off the mat! Look for good things from Ricco. There is talk of him fighting MMA for Strikeforce or back in the UFC. Ricco has fought the "who's who" of MMA, and has wins over names like Randy Couture, Paul Buentello, and Andre Arlovski. Welcome aboard, Ricco! Saturday, Sept 19 at Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco, GFY Gear fighter Marisela Badillo from Unlimited Kickboxing defended her WCSC Flyweight World Muay Thai belt with a decision victory, with the belt being presented by GFY Gear owner Mark Mazon after the fight. Friends of GFY Gear Trish Burnside from Cung Le's USH! and Jenna Castillo also won their bouts in the all female fight card "Female Fury II". On Sunday, Sept. 6 at Tommy T's in Rancho Cordova CA, 3 GFY Gear fighters battled it out in Muay Thai matches. Hector Cortes from Unlimited Kickboxing continued his winning streak in the Fight Of The Night. Marc Taledo and Robert Cornejo both from Unlimited Kickboxing lost decisions. Thanks to all of you that came out to support the fighters! On Saturday, Sept. 5 at Cal State Hayward in Hayward CA was a night of Muay Thai fights at "WFC - Battle on the Bay". GFY Gear fighter TJ Lewis from Cung Le's USH! lost a close decision in his debut and GFY Gear fighter Jeremy Murphy from Cung Le's USH! made a dominant return to the ring to continue his winning streak. Also on the card was Jacqueline Ott from Unlimited Kickboxing. Her fight was ruled a draw in what was likely the fight of the night. August 15 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose CA "Strikeforce Carano vs Cyborg" featured 2 GFY fighters. James Terry from Cung Le's USH! won via devastating first round head kick KO. Isaiah Hill from Cung Le's USH! lost via keylock in the first round in a fight that he was dominating up to that point. Upcoming Events:

Past Events: July 11 at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City was another great night of Muay Thai fights. There were many GFY Gear fighters on the card that night. Bryan Padilla from Unlimited Kickboxing won the MTR West Coast Super Welterweight Title via 2nd round TKO. Leizel Beliso from Unlimited Kickboxing won via unanimous decision, and longtime friend of GFY Jenna Castillo won the MTR Women's Bantamweight World Title! Robert Cornejo Jr. and Marc Toledo from Unlimited Kickboxing lost via decision, and Jun Bato of Cung Le's USH! lost in his his debut via decision. As always, we are very proud of all of the fighters, and will continue to support them in their upcoming fights! On Saturday June 27, GFY Gear fighter Adam Antolin from Cung Le's USH! won via Rear Naked Choke in the 2nd round of his fight at "Disturbing the Peace" at the Fresno Fairgrounds in Fresno CA. Congratulations Adam! Click here for pictures Also on June 27, GFY Gear fighter Isaiah Hill from Cung Le's USH! fought in the main event at "Mayhem in Motown" in Modesto California. Unfortunately, the fight was ruled a No Contest when Isaiah threw an inside leg kick that caught his opponent unintentionally in the groin, and his opponent was unable to recover and continue. On Saturday June 13 GFY Gear fighter Hector Cortes from Unlimited MMA won a Muay Thai bout at War of The Heroes III at the Santa Clara, CA Convention Center by 2nd round KO. Congratulations Hector! Jose Palacios from Cung Le's USH! was also on the card fighting for a Muay Thai title. This fight came only 2 weeks after his last fight, and unfortunately he came up short. We know Jose well, and know he will be back stronger than ever! On Saturday May 30, GFY Gear was very well represented at the "World Combat Sports Challenge - The Awakening" Muay Thai and MMA event at Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco. On the card were GFY Gear fighters Marisela Badillo from Unlimited MMA (she won a Flyweight world title!), Jose Palacios from Cung Le's USH! (won by 2nd round KO), Andrew Valladarez from Cung Le's USH! (lost via split decision), Bryan Padilla from Unlimited MMA (won by unanimous decision) and long time friend of GFY Gear Jenna Castillo won by 1st round KO. To watch fight video, go to www.ibnsports.com/fight.aspx and click on "World Combat Sports Challenge" On Friday May 15, GFY Gear fighter and San Shou champion Thomas Diagne from Cung Le's USH! won a unanimous decision in his MMA debut against Kaleo Kwan at "Strikeforce - Challengers" at the Save Mart Center in Fresno CA. Congratulations Thomas! James Terry from Cung Le's USH! did a great job representing GFY Gear on April 11th on the "Strikeforce - Shamrock vs. Diaz" card at the HP Pavilion in San Jose CA. He dominated to win 30-27 on all 3 judges scorecards. His takedowns, ground control, and Ground and Pound were too much for his opponent Zac Bucia. James' record is now 6-1. This card also featured wins by Gilbert Melendez, Nick Diaz, Scott Smith, Brett Rogers and Chris Cyborg. Click on the link for more info. We were there to watch these fights - were you? There is nothing like the energy of seeing the fights live! On March 27th, 5 GFY Gear sponsored fighters were on the fight card at "Fight Night At The Fox" in Redwood City, CA. Justin Roman won a California Muay Thai title in spectacular fashion with a 26 second KO of his opponent. Congratulations Justin! Way to represent! Robert Cornejo, a friend of GFY Gear for many years, was welcomed back to competition with what was likely the fight of the night. After an early flash knockdown, Robert came back to dominate the fight for a well deserved win. Jeremy Murphy won his first competitive Muay Thai fight. Hector Cortes looked very good on his way to a round 2 TKO victory. Leizel Beliso lost a split decision in a very close battle. Thanks to everyone for coming out and showing your support! On Feb 21, GFY Gear fighters Justin Roman, Bryan Padilla, and Marisela Badillo battled in Muay Thai fights on the "War Of The Heroes II" card at the Santa Clara, CA Convention Center. Bryan and Marisela won decisions, and Justin lost a very close decision. Congratulations to all 3 fighters, and thanks for representing GFY Gear! Keep up the hard work! Click on the link for more info. Adam Antolin fought in an MMA match on the "Cage Combat - The Battle For Nor Cal" card at the Sonoma Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA on Feb 21. Adam lost a close decision for the first loss of his professional MMA career. We know Adam well, and know he will learn from this, and become an even better fighter. Congratulations to Leizel Beliso for her victory (split decision) in a Muay Thai bout at WCSC Winter Classic in San Francisco on Dec 13. Also on the card was Vikram Bhullar who lost via controversial stoppage. We will see more of both of these fighters, and GFY Gear will continue to have their back! Congratulations to Miranda Cayabyab of Unlimited MMA for her unanimous decision victory, winning the California State Muay Thai belt at 112 lbs at the WSCS "Female Fury" show on Oct 25th! Also on the card was Marisela Badillo of Unlimited MMA who was fighting for a title at 122 pounds. Although her opponent didn't make weight, Marisela agreed to go on with the fight.
